Milestones

Either losing our minds or celebrating a successful electrical connection.

When we started this account a couple of months ago we had pretty low expectations.

We’ve done a lot of instagram promoting for our various artistic projects and in general it’s been an exhausting, anti-creative endeavor. This, I am happy to report, has been completely different. Aside from a few snide comments here and there from people who, to put it gently, I would not like to share even a brief car ride with, the comments and messages have been positive, probing, reflective, and generally delightful. After years of head-down working on the house, it’s come as a welcome surprise that others find value in what we’ve done in isolation.

It’s also helped to give me hope that some day my wider creative life will have some pull to go along with the unrelenting push it’s taken to sustain a decade-plus of visual art, music, and writing for a mostly imagined audience. All this to say: we’re marking the milestone of hitting 1000 followers not out of some competitive or commercial impulse but to acknowledge the effect that having an audience has had on our perspective, an effect that feels a little like buoyancy.

Thank you for following us.
